In 1984, Mark Cuddeback began building a device that would allow him to become a better hunter. He wanted to photograph and record the date and time of deer activity as a means of scouting. After four years, Mark had developed what was one of the first scouting cameras. So many people wanted this camera that, in 1989, Mark founded Non Typical Engineering. Twenty three years later, that desire to become a better hunter has resulted in the Cuddeback name becoming synonymous with state-of-the-art digital scouting cameras.

Non Typical is located in Park Falls, Wisconsin, in the heart of Wisconsin's north woods, where deer hunting is more then just a passion. Schools and work stop for opening day, church's conduct special masses for hunters, and for many residents, hunting season is the best time of year. With people like this to draw from, Non Typical has built a dedicated team that works hard to make Cuddeback the leader in the digital scouting camera market.
